TAC awarded 3-year CARF Accreditation

TAC awarded 3-year CARF Accreditation

TAC Enterprises has been accredited for a period of three years for its Community Integration and Organizational Employment Services programs. This is the first accreditation that the international accrediting commission has awarded to TAC since its operations became independent of the county in 2007. Prior to this award TAC was under the Clark County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ CARF accreditation.

This accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during on an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and now known as CARF, the accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.

FAQs about CARF:

What is CARF?
CARF is a private, not-for-profit organization that promotes quality rehabilitation services. It has established standards of quality for organizations to use as guidelines in developing and offering their programs or services to consumers. CARF uses these standards to determine how well an organization is serving its consumers and how it can improve.
The CARF standards are developed with input from consumers, rehabilitation professionals, state and national organizations, and funders. Every year the standards are reviewed and new ones are developed to keep pace with changing conditions and current consumer needs.
