Retired TAC – The Abilities Connection CEO Recognized at SourceAmerica’s National Awards Banquet
May 22, 2019, Anaheim, CA – Retired CEO of TAC – The Abilities Connection, Mary Brandstetter received the Milton Cohen Leadership Award during the SourceAmerica Achievement Awards banquet in Anaheim, California this week. This award is given to an individual whose leadership within an AbilityOne Non-Profit organization has led to the enhancement of employment opportunities for people with disabilities as well as celebrates the recipient for continuously striving for growth and greater opportunities in the disability employment area.
SourceAmerica connects product and service contracts to a national network of nonprofits who employ people with disabilities. There are over 95,000 people with significant disabilities that are employed through SourceAmerica’s nonprofit network, such as TAC. TAC- The Abilities Connection is a non-profit organization who employs, connects, and cares for people with developmental and physical disabilities in and around the Springfield area. TAC is a part of the AbilityOne program which provides employment opportunities for people who are blind or have a significant disability in the manufacturing and delivery of products and services to the Federal Government.
Brandstetter’s passion, drive, and vision for the people with disabilities as well as their families was always at the heart of her efforts. She has worked over four decades on behalf of people with disabilities. Her accomplishments include, but are not limited to, creating Ohio Day on the Hill in 2017 where over 50 advocates traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with legislators as well as the implementation of TAC’s Legislative Day which invites elected officials and employers to help educate them on the many ways they can be an asset to the force for change within the disabled employment community.
